The Better Education Institute (BEI) is partnering with the school district and Assemblyman Troy Singleton, D-Burlington, to donate 3,800 backpacks filled with essential school supplies.

Distribution will occur from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at two locations, the McGinley Elementary School, 40 Middlebury Lane, and the J.S. Stuart Elementary School, 70 Sunset Rd.

Gerard Green, BEI outreach coordinator, said the donations will give students basic tools to be better prepared for the school year.
