ArtPride honors Assemblyman Troy Singleton

As a member of SJCA, ArtPride New Jersey — the state’s largest arts service organization — was given the opportunity to honor Singleton, who represents Burlington City, where ArtPride New Jersey’s headquarters are located.

Held each year, the Encore Awards acknowledge individuals, corporations, foundations and government agencies that bolster the region’s creative community.

Singleton recently introduced A3555, a bill that proposes to increase the levels of state support for arts, history and tourism promotion programs.

“ArtPride is pleased to recognize the Honorable Troy Singleton’s hard work and dedication with an Encore Award,” said Adam Perle, president and CEO of the ArtPride New Jersey Foundation. “The assemblyman is a leader in the discussion about the need for increased state arts support by taking legislative action, and we are grateful to have him as a champion for this vital cause.”

Local leaders, government officials, arts administrators and others gathered to recognize more than a dozen proponents of the arts and history from across South Jersey.

Singleton and the other honorees received hand-made awards, designed especially for the event by artists Don Friel and Joe Mattson of the Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center.

The Encore Awards took place in Hammonton, with a reception at the Annata Wine Bar followed by the awards ceremony at the Eagle Theatre.

The ArtPride New Jersey Foundation is in The Herman T. Costello Lyceum Hall for the Arts, 432 High St., Burlington City. For more information about ArtPride, visit ArtPrideNJ.com.
