Strengthening Our Children's Educational Foundation

The educational foundation that we lay for our children should be steeped in the principle that every child, regardless of zip code, should have the tools necessary to succeed. Adhering to this principle can be particularly daunting in some segments of our society where significant outside factors, (i.e. crime, family strife, lack of nutrition) have a major impact on the education of our children. That is why I am proud of my work on Assembly bill A679/2186 Acs that encourages establishment of “breakfast after the bell” programs in public and nonpublic schools participating in the federal school breakfast program It is important that every child is afforded the foundation of a well nourished mind in order to preform to their highest potential.
