It is well known that New Jersey is one of the highest taxed and costliest states in the nation to live and do business. In order to compete on a national and global stage we must bring costs down and incentivize competition. As such, I am proud to serve on the Assembly Budget committee to safeguard the priorities of our State Budget and eradicate the wasteful spending that has become a detriment to our cost competitiveness. One such cost cutting measure is Assembly Bill A951, which restores money to municipalities from the Energy Tax Receipts Property Tax Relief Fund. This money is funneled from taxpayers’ energy bills, to their municipalities, and then to the State for use in the General Fund. I’m fighting for this money to be sent back to municipalities for meaningful and direct property tax relief for our residents.
