This recession has highlighted a number of critical areas where we need to boost performance in order to succeed. The old adage "when you learn more you earn more" rings true. Whether it's at the state, national or local level we must sharpen our competitive edge and create new opportunities for working-class families to get ahead. To give our workforce these new opportunities in a job sector that is in high demand, my bill Assembly Bill A3020 which would require the Secretary of Higher Education, in consultation with various entities, to design a manufacturing career pathway to provide students with skills necessary to gain employment in manufacturing sector. Providing new pathways to give our workforce more opportunities is key in getting New Jersey ahead.
